Through Shining Glass:
3. The Conversation

You talk about the woman

I pluck your head
and place it in a coffeepot
and wonder will it grow

You talk about the woman

I understand
your teeth are popsicles
and steal them all away

You talk about the woman

I bite your lips
like oranges
they crumble just like chocolates

You talk about the woman

You look at me.
Untouched, you let a yawn

become a smile
