Group B coins are both extremely rare and enigmatic. They have previously been lumped into Class V by reason of the nose shape on the obverse and the cross infront of the pony on the reverse. A problem with this arrangement is that there is a design evolution that runs from Group A directly to Group C and then on to the other groups in Series X. There are dies in Group A that are more evolved, and most likely later than those of Group B. I discuss this more thoroughly in the Group A information.
