Carin Perron: Poems & Prose
Anne
(for Anne Morrow Lindbergh)

I entered this poem, among others, in the 1991 Bournemouth International Festival Open Poetry Competition in England, where it tied third place. The judge, Sebastian Barker, said at the Adjudication that he found the poem "stylistically assured and deeply moving."

I found it fitting that this poem should be my first to successfully cross the Atlantic (from Canada). The spirit of the Lindberghs must have been with me. The poem has not been published elsewhere.
